Altered Dominoe Hair Beautification Project

One more little project I did with the altered dominoes was this hair ornament.
It is rather large, about 5 inches across. and loaded with pearls, glitter, fuzzy fibers and of course ,
the cream... an altered domino.

I have included several shot of this accessory to give you another idea what you can do with your domino project.

Or if you don't want to do it for yourself.  Just buy it from me!  I will be listing it shortly. (a day or two) on my etsy shop.

This is a shot of my beautiful model Gemma.  Hair decorations of this kind work on girls of all ages....really!

you tube Altered Dominoe Tutorial

Check out this link to my you tube video on how to alter dominoes with alcohol inks.

What to do with Altered Dominoes?

Ok, so you saw the fun tutorial on altering your own dominoes.
If not, click on the link and get started!
You did all of the hard work.  Now What!

What can you do with those dominoes that have been cutified!

Here are a few of my thoughts.

I like to use them in making hair accessories.  Check out these little beauties!

Both of these sold at a recent show I did.  The green one was used a broach, because I put a large alligator clip on the back.

Here are a few more things that I made.  These are a twin set of hair clips.

And this one is on the front of a card.  The dominoes can also be put on the front of an album.

These rummy tiles were made by my sister.  The same principals apply to make the dominoes into jewelry!

Have fun and send me a picture or a note with what you did!
(I included a link to the you tube tutorial I did on altered dominoes here)

Have a fabulous day!!

Altered Dominos- tutorial

I learned a technique of making cool little dominoes.

Here is a step by step.

1.  ink the backs of the domino with alcohol ink
(let it dry, which takes almost no time at all)

2.  stamp images on the top of the alcohol inks
(use a solvant based ink like stayz on)

3.  Add glitter and shimmer with stickles

4. let it dry!

5.  lightly seal with a spray acrylic sealer.

These are a lot of fun to make.  They do take a little bit of time, because of drying time in between each step.  But worth the wait!

These are great as additions to scrapbooks, jewelry making, or anything else you could imagine.
